An impromptu trip to Gokarna during Shivaratri got me into booking any accommodation that was available on booking.com without thinking twice. For one reason, I was booking the property a day before. Two, Gokarna is packed during Shivaratri. Namaste Yoga Farm is a very unique property. The whole vibe of Gokarna is calm even in the peak season, and this property reflects the same.
Gokarna is a small town so it hardly makes any difference which location you choose. I’ve been to Gokarna quite a few times, and checked out four to five properties. Kudle is by far my favorite area to crash. Namaste Yoga Farm is 500 meters hike from Kudle Beach. From Kudle you can start the beach trekking and explore the golden route – Kudle to Om beach to Half Moon beach to Paradise beach. It’s easy to rent bikes just outside the property. Autos are readily available.
This property is a gem! You enter through a small gate, walk through a beautiful passage and witness the whole property enveloped in trees. The rooms, cottages and tree houses are spread throughout the farm. The breakfast or the lounge area is extremely cosy and peaceful. It’s like diving into the water with pin-drop silence and endless beauty to look at. It is the best place to reconnect with oneself. They have separate area for yoga which makes the whole ambience is so serene.
YOGA AND BREAKFAST
Yoga and breakfast come free with the room package. There are two sessions of yoga everyday in the morning and evening held by professional yogis. Although they might not offer it in off-season. Make sure to check before booking! I did yoga for the first time there, and I absolutely loved it! That state of mind is something I crave for right now in Delhi.
They serve delicious and very home-like English breakfast. Simple, but I guess the warm atmosphere adds up to the taste. 😀
Namaste Yoga Farm offers tons of unique options for accommodation. From standard rooms, holidays cottages, romantic cottages, sky cottages to beautiful tree houses. I stayed in the holiday cottage. The rooms are VERY simple yet clean. I found it quite overpriced. But I was somehow convinced considering how stunning the whole farm was. I will definitely stay there again, and this time in a tree house. Oh, and even if you’re staying in the cottages, expect insects in your room and washroom. Since it is surrounded by nature, there is no way you can avoid insects. AND, a tube of Odomos is a must because the mosquitos are going to kill you!
Louisa and Oliver are wonderful hosts. They make this farm a great place for travelers. They will welcome you with warm smiles and are doing a great job running the farm with such ease. Not that they own it, but surely work as if they do. Thanks to them for making it such a happy place!
Will I recommend it to anyone? Yes, definitely. I myself would go there again for some peace and yoga! Not denying that the rooms are a complete rip off but I’d definitely go there for the feel of the place.
NOTE: This property does not accept cards – only cash and PayPal. And, there are only 3 ATMs in Gokarna. Make sure you have enough cash on you!
