Pappi Chulo – The Most Happening Hostel Of Goa

This is not a paid review. I have no association or partnership with Pappi Chulo. I chose to review and all opinions are my own. This article contains affiliate links.

People who wish to party head to North Goa. I have been to Goa thrice and a hell lot of hostels in total but Pappi Chulo is by far the most happening one.

Distance from Pappi Chulo to major attractions like:

1)      Vagator Beach is less than 300 mtrs.

2)      Thalassa is less than 250 mtrs

3)      Chapora Fort is 1.5 km

4)      Cubana is 4.5 km

5)      Saturday Night Market is 3.7 km

A taxi from airport to the hostel would cost around INR 1200 during the day and around INR 1800 at night. You can easily rent a scooter/car outside Pappi to save money on commuting.

I simply LOVE the structure of the hostel. They have given a cottage look to every dorm and have quirky names of each dorm – Cartoon, Shanti, Trump, Woodstock, Movie, Trip.

It has an on-site bar serving awesome cocktails in the common area. If you’re planning to have a good night sleep at Pappi Chulo, then sorry but no sorry, the music and the party vibes won’t let you.

The common area, which is basically an artificial garden with comfortable seating, is where you can hang out and make new friends.

I love what they have done with the walls. Yes, you got that right. WALL!! The graffiti and wall paintings are beautifully done.

Also, if you love cats and dogs then you’ll love Pappi Chulo. Lol, sounds funny. I mean they have pet kitten and dogs. However this wasn’t that good for me as I’m not too fond of dogs.

I stayed there for 10 days and changed 3 dorms during the stay. No, not that they were bad. I was volunteering at Pappi Chulo so basically I was one of the staff. Consequently I had to change dorms depending upon the bookings and occupancy.

The 8-bed dorm is a little congested and suffocating. The other two dorms were 6-bed dorms which of course are more comfortable than the 8 bed dorm. Although it does not matter much because you are anyway not going to be on your bed for more than 5-6 hours. One night I had to sleep in a Non-AC dorm too. It was in the month of March and without AC room was perfectly fine.

Washrooms are clean and hygienic. Dorms are cleaned on a regular basis.

The two owners, Chikki and Rohit, are so energetic. I wonder from where they get so much energy. 😛 Other than being energetic, they are so damn friendly. Chikki told me about his life journey and now he is on the ‘list of people who inspired me’.

Travelers usually stay here for months and work in hostel in exchange for free accommodation. They are some crazy, wild and most fun people you could hang out with. They intend more on making connection than just serving the guest.

To conclude, this is my opinion of the Pappi Chulo Hostel Goa in brief.

22-year-old girl, who one day realized how travelling to far off places and going on adventures could change perspective about life. That was the day when Trippindian was found and she started finding her hobby, passion and profession in it.

OMG seriously so psychedelic!!! I love all the trippy colors and painting. It reminds me of that video I saw of the cabbies that had the inside of their cabs painted in india! And you had me sold at 300 mtrs to the beach!

Such reviews are always great as there’s a big difference between quiet and party hostels. I’d definitively avoid this one although I’d love to see the cats and dogs. However, sleeping in a quiet surrounding between midnight and 7 am is more important for me :-). Normally, I avoid hostels but if I choose one (or have no choice because there’s no AirBnB nearby), then I prefer to know in advance what kind of hostel it is.

Pappi Chulo sounds like a great experience. I’ve never stayed at a hostel! I think it’s time I try one 🙂

The hostel looks so fun and cool. I could only relate Goa for luxury resorts and “ME” time.
